Another Series Win
The Braves are just stacking series’.
Last night’s win gave the Braves five straight series wins. It’s also the fourth series out of the last five in which the Braves have the chance at a series sweep going into the final game of the series.
They’re doing everything they need to do in order to catch the Mets; no matter what those other Braves Twitter accounts told you after the series against the Mets in New York.
The division wasn’t over then, it’s not over now.
The upcoming three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals is the toughest series remaining on the Braves schedule; unless somebody later suddenly starts a hot streak.
The remaining series opponents for the Braves, in order, are: Cardinals, Rockies, Marlins, Athletics, Mariners, Giants, Phillies, Nationals, Phillies, Nationals, Mets, Marlins.
No one in that list is fear-inducing or even a team that the Braves should struggle with, to be honest. The Mets had their day against Atlanta, that’s over.
The Rockies are a trashcan past it’s service-life that keeps just getting new handles. It’s still the same trashcan, it just has new accessories every now & then for people to look at; Arenado to Story to now Kris Bryant.
I don’t think I need to explain the Marlins.
The best thing about the Athletics is former Braves-farmhand Shea Langeliers.
The Mariners are nothing to write home about unless Luis Castillo or Logan Gilbert is pitching.
The Giants have good players but are ultimately a failed attempt to repeat their surprise 2021 season.
The Phillies are dangerous, admittedly. But they’re in a stretch where they somehow piss away whatever lead they had, late.
The Nationals just now got both feet on top of the “Step 1” block on their journey into a tear-it-down rebuild.
I’m not panicking.
The boys ain’t panicking.
You don’t panic, neither.
