Braves Embarass Mets
When I say the Braves put a hurting on the Mets, I mean they beat them so bad that Buck Showalter put a position player in to pitch…in the 7th inning.
Buck Showalter is one of, if not baseball’s biggest critic of pitching position players; yet Darin Ruf toed the rubber for the Mets last night.
By the time Ruf was put in there the Braves already had three homeruns, fourteen hits, three doubles, & thirteen runs. The Mets had also already thrown four pitchers up to that point.
There’s really no in-depth analysis or takeaway from last night’s game, other than without Marcell Ozuna in the lineup, the Braves offense looked the best it has all season.
The Braves are now 4.5 back of the Mets for the NL East lead.
