Braves Win, Dansby Outlook
Dansby is playing into a payday; but is that pay coming from Atlanta? Should it come from Atlanta?
The Braves took Game One of the 2021 World Series rematch, 6-2. To be honest with you, I never felt like the game was ever in doubt.
It only took Atlanta one time through the order to figure out McCullers, and it only took McCullers one mistake to figure out Riley ain’t the guy to make a mistake to. Riley unloaded on a slider that didn’t slide, to give the Braves a 3-0 lead in the third inning. They wouldn’t look back.
The Bravos made McCullers throw 91 pitches over his five innings of work. That doesn’t seem like an awful lot for your run-of-the-mill big leaguer, but Lance is coming off an injury with a lengthy recovery time.
Wright, on the other hand, worked six innings on just 84 pitches. He surrendered two runs but notched seven strikeouts.
People keep talking about the lack of starting pitching for the Braves. But the Braves just continue to beat their opponents’ staff ace. Riddle me that, Batman.
During last night’s game the Stros lost two outfielders to injury: first was Yordan Alvarez in a scary situation where he apparently fainted, he was transported to a local hospital during the game; Mauricio Dubon also left with injury after a play at the center field wall on Dansby’s double.
Speaking of Dansby…
