Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot
The Atlanta Braves scored forty runs in their most recent series against the Colorado Rockies. In a four-game series, that’s an average of ten runs per game. If there were any doubts remaining from ANYONE about this Braves lineup, they’re now missing in action.
In two of the four games, an Atlanta Brave had multiple homeruns. In game two of the series, Travis d’Arnaud hit two roundtrippers; in the series finale, Eddie Super Rosario hit two of his own. The barrage of bombs from Braves batters (say that 5 times fast) led to an aggregate out scoring of Colorado 40-12. In football terms, the starters were pulled in the fourth quarter with a rolling clock.
Speaking of Travis d’Arnaud, he’s the primary catcher for the next week or so while Sean Murphy nurses a right hamstring issue. The silver lining in that is the fact that a third catcher (Chadwick Tromp) was brought up to Atlanta without sending Murph to the IL, suggesting that he’ll be back to playing form before the 10-day mark.
Change of Pace
Straying from the discussion of current Braves, I want to highlight a guy that’s been linked to the Braves in trade deadlines past, that I think should be brought in for the second half of the season/postseason…
