Get Ready for Game Two
Kyle Wright takes the mound tonight in an attempt to both right the wrongs of Game One in San Diego, as well as to show that his first outing of the season was no fluke.
Kyle pitched six innings of two-hit baseball on April 9th against the Cincinnati Reds. In his six innings he struck out six & only issued one free pass. Only three Reds reached base in the 2-1 Braves win. His first outing cannot be overstated, it was one of the best one-game performances across baseball this season:
Tonight he’ll face an offense fresh off a 12-run effort against Charlie Morton & Co.
MacKenzie Gore Debuts
On the other side of the ball, HIGHLY TOUTED left-handed MacKenzie Gore is making his MLB debut. If history serves, that’s the perfect storm for an anemic offensive performance out of the boys from GA.
The 23-year old from Whiteville, NC was drafted by the Padres with the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 MLB June Amateur Draft.
He’s currently the 3rd-ranked prospect in the San Diego system.
His arrival to the majors is probably comparable to how Braves fans who keep up with prospects feel about Michael Harris.
Let’s hope the Braves come out tonight mad about yesterday!
