Swagger
The Braves have their swagger back, Saturday & Sunday be darned.
After the de facto Trade Deadline midway point of the season Atlanta has been playing with the zeal were familiar with from the boys with Tomahawk chests. Other than getting worked 7-0 by the equivalent of a AAA team from Miami, the Braves are playing rejuvenated with the expectation to win.
The rebirth of Atlanta’s usual mentality couldn’t have come at a better time. From being passed by the New York Mets in the National League Wildcard race and being 10.5 games behind Philadelphia for the division lead, the Braves in possession of the top NL Wildcard spot. They hold a half game lead over San Diego who is in the second Wildcard spot and two games clear of the New York Mets, who are in fourth place in the Wildcard standings…and oh yeah, only six games behind Philadelphia for the East crown.
